Kelly Kline For the third time this season and the ninth time in her career, senior Kelly Kline of the Muhlenberg softball team was named player of the week by the Centennial Conference.

Kline hit .571 with a .786 slugging percentage and .625 on-base percentage in a 4-0 CC week for the Mules. She hit a go-ahead solo home run in a 6-3 win at Dickinson and went 4-for-4 in the second game of the Ursinus doubleheader.

The offensive surge put Kline back in the CC batting lead with a .458 season average. She also paces the league in slugging percentage (.819), on-base percentage (.583), home runs (7), RBI (30), total bases (68) and walks (22).

Already the program’s all-time leader in doubles, home runs, extra-base hits, total bases and RBI, Kline moved closer to another major school record. She needs six hits to break the all-time mark of 182.

The four wins last week clinched a CC playoff berth for the Mules (23-7). They need one win in Saturday’s home doubleheader against Franklin & Marshall to clinch the top seed and hosting rights for the CC tournament for the second straight year.
