Junior Alexandra Chili of the Muhlenberg women’s basketball team was named player of the week by the Centennial Conference.
Chili scored 27 points in the Mules’ lone game of the week, a 67-53 win at Montclair State on Saturday. She hit scored 11 points in the first
9:07 alone, helping Muhlenberg sprint out to a 25-4 lead that the Red Hawks would never recover from. Chili also contributed a game-high 5 assists and
added 3 steals.
Chili, who earned the CC honor for the fourth time in her career, leads the CC in scoring at 21.8 points per game, more than 5.0 points than the player in
second place. She also leads in three-pointers per game (3.13) and is third in free-throw percentage (.846), tied for eighth in assists (2.88 per game) and eighth in steals (2.13 per game).
Muhlenberg is 8-0, and Chili has scored at least 20 points in five of the eight games. Her output at Montclair pushed her over the 1,100-point mark for her
career.
