Alexandra Chili Senior Alexandra Chili of the Muhlenberg women’s basketball team was named co-player of the week by the Centennial Conference.

Chili averaged 18.5 points and became the program’s all-time scoring leader in a 2-0 week. She shot 52.0 percent from the field and added eight rebounds, seven assists, five steals and two blocked shots.

Chili scored 28 points in the win at McDaniel to run her career total to 1,695, breaking the 19-year-old school record of 1,690 set by Felicia Perryman (1990-93).

On the CC’s all-time list, Chili jumped up to fifth place, just seven away from taking over fourth. She also moved to within 94 points of breaking the Muhlenberg basketball scoring record of 1,788 points, held by Bob McClure (1968-71).

Although the focus was on the scoring record, Chili’s most memorable play of the game was a behind-the-back pass to Alita Zabrecky for a fastbreak layup late in the first half. That pass earned her another honor: Play of the Week, as announced on The MuhlBox today.

For the season, Chili leads the CC in points per game (18.0), three-pointers (29) and three-point field-goal percentage (.453). She also is fifth in assists per game (3.09), eighth in free-throw percentage (.767) and 10th in field-goal percentage (.430) and blocked shots per game (1.09).

The two wins last week pushed Muhlenberg’s record to 11-0. The Mules are in sole possession of first place in the CC and are one of 10 remaining undefeated teams in Division III.
