Head Coach John Librick
After three years as head coach of the Muhlenberg men's golf team, John Librick took on the added duty of coaching women's team beginning for the 2012-13 year.
In his first two years with the men, Librick led the Mules to consecutive third-place finish at the Centennial Conference Championships and four tournament titles. In 2012, the Mules set a school record for lowest round by shooting a 294 on the second day of the Penn State Harrisburg Invitational.
Librick has rebuilt the women's program to its highest participation levels in almost a decade. The Mules competed in seven tournaments in 2013-14 and had their lowest score at the CC Championships in six years.
Librick came to Muhlenberg from nearby Center Valley Club, where since 2000 he had served as outside operations manager and assistant professional. In addition to representing the golf course at expos locally and nationally, he provided one-on-one golf instruction to men and women of all ages (8 to 80) and coached golfers in a "clinic" setting in groups ranging in size from two to approximately 20 individuals.
Librick annually handled around 30 external tournaments, which fielded up to 300 golfers. He also presented several programs on the rules and etiquette of golf to the Executive Women's Golf Association; conducted a presentation at Lehigh University on the dynamics of how golf can be utilized to create business networks and opportunities; and volunteered golf instruction services for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Lehigh Valley.
A 1985 graduate of Trenton State College, Librick also has considerable management experience in the corporate world, with eight years as an associate manager at Prudential Insurance Company and five as a call center supervisor at Binney & Smith.
