Athletics: Women's Tennis
The oldest women's sport at Muhlenberg, tennis has been one of the school's most successful programs. From 1983 to 1993, the team won 10 Middle Atlantic Conference Northeast championships and four MAC North titles. The 1986 team went undefeated in the regular season.
The Mules shared their first Centennial Conference championship in 2002 and claimed the title outright in 2004. They had their first CC singles champion in 2003 and earned their first bid to the NCAA Championships in 2005. A Muhlenberg player earned All-America honors in both 2005 and 2006, reaching the semifinals of the NCAA Tournament the latter year.
Two women were conference champions in singles and doubles in the late 1980s — the first Muhlenberg women to win conference titles in an individual sport. In 1996 one of those players became the first woman from an individual sport inducted into the Muhlenberg College Athletic Hall of Fame.
