typical day:
6:00am-10:00: assist with all aspects of guest services on the "Early Show". Greet and escort all on air guests/talent from the limo to green room, hair/make-up, to studio and out again.
11:00am-7:00pm: Work at the Broadcasting Center circulating from Promo Dept, Control Room for Evening News and Special Events.
Saturday: Assist Exec. Producer of Early Show-finding news/good stories to appear on the Sat. morning and research info on potential guests.
insights:
Television is a great, fast-paced and exciting industry to work for, but it does have its draw-backs--including 65 hr work-weeks, not very good pay and definite weekend shifts. If you love it though, it's worth it in the end.
