Class of 2002
Communication Specialist / Lockheed Martin
typical day: The amazing thing about my job is that I can expect something different every day. Some days I'm consumed with making technical videos for customers and for general marketing use. I'll spend countless hours attached to Final Cut Pro, editing meticulously as everyone else heads home. Other days I work on the internal website or make Flash productions for use in everything from videos to websites. You'll find me on other days dressed to the nines to act as the public relations representative for government officials or high profile defense customers. Some days I'll be slaving over press releases, newsletter articles, and employee communications. Twice a quarter you'll find me teaching a dozen engineers how to do presentations more effectively. Some weeks are nothing but an endless track of proposals, for which the editing and copy editing never truly ends. And when I'm not doing that, I'm checking out the cool technology that we're creating!

I consider myself incredibly lucky because my job fits perfectly with my "stress junkie" personality. Not a day passes that I find myself bored or unhappy in my job...not to say that it isn't frustrating trying to talk the language of an engineer who can't meet me halfway, so to speak.

exciting news: I earned my Master's degree from Drexel University in Technical Communication where I also taught an undergraduate business writing course and was the thesis format reviewer for the entire University.

insights: Love your work, but remember that work is only a small aspect of life. Have fun!
