Lee National Denim Day

For the past several years, students in Dr. Susan Kahlenberg's Health Communication class have participated in implementing Lee National Denim Day campaign at Muhlenberg College. On this day, Lee Jeans encourages millions of people nationwide to wear jeans and make a donation as part of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In class, students examine how news media frame breast cancer in women's periodicals like In Style, Cosmopolitan and Vogue ; students Katie, Karla and Diana (pictured to the right) share their findings with students, particularly emphasizing how social, environmental and biomedical risk factors were presented in editorials on breast cancer.
