Meet the Staff

Karen Green, Dean of Students

Karen Green joined the Muhlenberg Community in June of 2006.  With a history of 26 years in Student Affairs prior to coming to Muhlenberg, Ms. Green served as the Dean of Students at Wells College in Aurora, NY.

Ms. Green, a 1986 graduate of Agnes Scott College, earned a M. Div. from the Candler School of Theology of Emory University in 1997.

In her first year at Muhlenberg, Ms. Green founded Muhlenberg’s Gospel Choir, "Rejoice."  She teaches leadership classes with Mike Donnelly and holds weekly lunches with student leaders.  Ms. Green serves on several committees such as the college committee for campus life, the college committee for fitness & athletics, multicultural counsel, multicultural advisory board, and the senior year experience.

Dean Green has an open-door policy with regular office hours Monday-Friday from 1:30pm-3:00pm.

Jane M. Schubert, Judicial Officer

A 2002 graduate of Muhlenberg College, Ms. Schubert has made an incredible impact on the student body.  Originally hired as Dean Ehrenberg's administrative assistant, Ms. Schubert diligently ran the office while learning the inner workings of the Dean of Students organization.

In 1999, she was promoted to the position of Judicial Officer. In this capacity, her primary responsibility is working closely with Campus Safety and Residential Services in determining disciplinary actions stemming from College Social Code Violations. Ms. Schubert oversees the training of the Judicial Committees and Hearing Boards, and is a liaison with the Appeals Board.

In addition to her Dean of Students responsibilities, she is also the advisor to the College's dance team, "The Perkulators," and the a cappella group, "The Dynamics."

Lara Kuhns, Administrative Assistant

Joining the Dean of Students Office staff in 2007, Lara Kuhns brings a wealth of experience and professionalism to the team. Prior to her employment at Muhlenberg, Lara was Coordinator, Educational Services for BlessingWhite, Inc., a human resources consulting firm in Skillman, NJ.

Her energetic style and outgoing personality make student's interaction with the Dean of Students office much more enjoyable. Her ability to work autonomously and handle many of the incoming calls and questions relieves some of the stress from the office staff.
