PRE-ORIENTATION PROGRAMS FOR THE CLASS OF 2013 Engaging in lives of Leadership and service at Muhlenberg
The following programs are available for Pre-Orientation 2009. These excursions are memorable experiences where you get to know other Muhlenberg first-year students in small group settings. Participants will meet new friends and contribute personal strengths in programs that are fun and educational. Each program is coordinated by a member of Muhlenberg’s faculty or staff and created to offer new students activities that are supportive learning opportunities in a fun and productive setting. You will receive full information about the programs and application procedures with your summer registration packet in May.
OUTDOOR ADVENTURES: GET UP & GO!

Dates: Friday, July 24 through Sunday, July 26
Program Description: Experience nature up close! Enjoy camping, rafting, paintball, and mountain biking in the beautiful outdoors to challenge both your mind and body. Enjoy the solitude of the woods, sleep out under the stars, and meet new friends while hiking a rugged trail through some of the most beautiful countryside in Pennsylvania. An early option for athletes.
Cost Per Student: $200

Dates: Monday, August 24 through Thursday, August 27
Program Description: Great leaders are people who understand their unique talents and transform them into strengths by acquiring skills and knowledge. This program will help you develop this understanding and explore how to use this information to be successful in college and in life. The strengths that you reveal can be applied to academics, relationships, your career, and more. You will also have the opportunity to pilot and provide feedback for a brand new program being developed by the Career Center. Free time and evenings will be spent connecting with other program participants and engaging in fun activities and friendly competition with other pre-orientation groups. Participants will move into their dorm rooms after 12:00pm on Monday, August 24th.

SEE & SERVE YOUR COMMUNITY

Dates: Monday, August 24 through Thursday, August 27
Program Description: Show your compassion by sharing your strength! Volunteer and help some of the local service organizations while also exploring the greater Allentown community. The experience is guaranteed to build solid relationships with other service-minded students and a firm foundation as you prepare to enter your first year of college. A worthwhile community service project presented in the spirit of the College. Participants will move into their dorm rooms after 12:00pm on Monday, August 24th.
