Emily Petchler '09, Erika Iyengar, Kate Goodrich, Kimberly Heiman and Richard Niesenbaum (all of the Biology Department) attended the Lehigh Valley Ecology and Evolution Symposium last weekend. Chelsea Lobdell, presidential asst. for the Academic Resource Center and a computer science major, presented a poster on "Free/Open Source Software Tools for a Library Website: A Comparative Analysis" at the Educause Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference in Philadelphia. It was based on work she did with Mary Moulton (Trexler Library) and Clif Kussmaul (computer science).

Joshua Glueck '09 and J. Matt Marini '11 gave a talk at the Eastern Psychological Assn. meeting in Pittsburgh. Josh, Matt and Matt Eadline '09 conducted the study in the fall 2008. They were the only undergraduates to give a talk in the "Animal Learning and Behavioral Neuroscience" sessions. The three are research assistants with Gretchen Gotthard.

Theatre
The cast of Forever Plaid, which runs July 8-26, sang the national anthem at the Iron Pigs baseball game at Coca-Cola Park. The quartet included Ty Hooker-Haring, Mike Miller, Gabe Martinez and Zach Chiero.
Francine Roussel and the MTA production of "A Flea in Her Ear" received a Certificate of Merit for Ensemble Work at the American College Theatre Festival. Juniors Gabe Martinez and Katie Brandenstein also receive Irene Ryan nominations in acting.
Tim Averill, Lex Gurst, Doug Ovens, and James E. Thomas, all received Certificates of Merit at the American College Theatre Festival for the MTA production of The Possibilities by Howard Barker. The show was directed by department chair Jim Peck, Shannon Fitzsimons '09, and Aaron Lawson '09.
Christa Wroblewski, Natalie West, and Robert Grimm, members of the class of 2009, all earned Irene Ryan nominations in the acting category for the MTA production of The Possibilities by Howard Barker at the American College Theatre Festival. Possibilities has also been recommended to perform at the Regional Festival next year.
Troy Dwyer and Charles O. Anderson's production of Caw was adjudicated by the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival and received an unprecedented five Certificates of Merit, including scholarship award nominations for students Deacon Harris (set design), and Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship nominations for Eric Thompson and Zach Chiero.
