FOOTBALL RANKS AMONG NATIONAL LEADERS
The Muhlenberg football team shows up seven times among the national Division III statistical leads through games of Nov. 3. In team categories, the Mules are tied for 17th in pass efficiency defense, with 85.1 rating points, and tied for 23rd in scoring offense, at 36.4 points per game. Senior Joshua Carter is tied for 17th in kickoff returns (26.7 per return), 22nd in all-purpose running (166.7 yards per game) and 28th in punt returns (13.0 per return). Sophomore Matt Bernardos school-record 19 touchdowns place him in a tie for fourth place in scoring (12.7 points per game). Senior Erik Hammar has moved into a tie for 15th place in interceptions (0.8 per game) with six the last two weeks. After tying for first place in the Centennial Conference, the Muhlenberg
College volleyball team has placed three members on the All-CC team.
Juniors Meaghan Billie and Dana Ferrelli were both selected to the first team. It is the first time in team history that the Mules have placed two players on the All-CC first team.
Senior Laura Funsten was voted to the second team after setting school records for assists in a season (1,050) and career (3,071) and assists per game in a season (9.46) and career (7.55). The only senior on the team, she also became the fourth player in team history to record 1,000 career digs and finished second in program history with 175 service aces. |
