Field Hockey
Johns Hopkins extended its winning streak to five and remained atop the CC standings with a 7-1 home win against Bryn Mawr. The Blue Jays have a big week ahead, with games at Washington and home against Swarthmore ... Franklin & Marshall, which entered the week ranked sixth in the region, suffered 1-0 losses to Ursinus and Washington ... Gettysburg, the Mules’ opponent on Saturday, moved to 2-1 in the CC with a 1-0 win against Haverford.

The top four teams in the CC appear to be separating themselves from the rest of the pack ... Johns Hopkins (vs. Haverford), Gettysburg (vs. Ursinus) and Muhlenberg (vs. McDaniel) all won their weekend matches by at least four goals, while Franklin & Marshall edged past Swarthmore, 1-0 ... Hopkins blanked Alvernia 11-0 earlier in the week ... F&M has its next three games against the other teams in the top four, beginning Saturday at Gettysburg.

Franklin & Marshall stayed a half-game ahead of Muhlenberg with a 1-0 win at Washington. A Diplomat defender knocked a ball off the line in the closing second to preserve the win ... Johns Hopkins won its fourth straight CC game, blanking Bryn Mawr, 7-0. The Blue Jays’ game at Gettysburg was rained out and rescheduled for Nov. 5 ... Haverford moved up in the standings with a 1-0 win against Dickinson ... F&M hosts Gettysburg on Wednesday.

Volleyball
Johns Hopkins swept Dickinson and Ursinus on Saturday to keep pace with Franklin & Marshall at the top of the standings. The two teams are scheduled to face each other Saturday at F&M. Hopkins faces another important road test when it travels to Gettysburg on Wednesday ... Bryn Mawr swept Ursinus for its first CC win since 1999.
