Volleyball Wins Second Straight
Freshman Julie Lauro recorded 11 kills and 11 digs for her seventh double-double of the season as the Muhlenberg volleyball team swept Dickinson in three games to win its second straight match. The Mules (13-16, 5-4) jumped out to a 15-4 lead in the first game and cruised the rest of the way. The Red Devils (5-23, 0-8) suffered their 17th consecutive defeat. Senior Meaghan Billie added eight kills and needs just three more to become the first Muhlenberg player to notch 300 kills in each of three seasons. Senior Dana Ferrelli served up seven aces, including three in a span of four serves early in the third game. |
Womens Soccer Stays in Hunt for First
Sophomore Jenn Arrow converted a cross from junior Dawn Iberer in the 16th minute for the only goal as Muhlenberg edged Dickinson, 1-0, for its fifth straight win. In spite of the win, the Mules (9-6, 6-1) stayed in second place in the Centennial Conference, as Franklin & Marshall (6-0-1) defeated Gettysburg, 3-1. Senior Kim Laurino made six saves in goal, extending her unscored-upon streak to 319 minutes. Arrows goal was the first of her career, while Iberers assist gave her 97 career points. |
