Rankings
The Muhlenberg mens soccer team clinched a berth in the Centennial Conference playoffs when Dickinson lost to Ursinus, 1-0, on Monday. In the Mid-Atlantic Region rankings, Muhlenberg moved up to No. 9 after two weeks at No. 10:
1. Messiah (14-1-1) The Muhlenberg womens soccer team fell out of the regional rankings after one week at No. 8. |
WOMENS SOCCER TAMES BEARS
Sophomore Rebecca Armstrong scored two first-half goals to lead the Muhlenberg womens soccer team to a 2-0 shutout of Ursinus (6-12-1, 1-7-1) in its next-to-last Centennial Conference games of the season. The Mules (11-6, 8-1), who have won seven in a row, close out their CC schedule with a home makeup game against Franklin & Marshall on Monday. The winner of that game will capture the CC regular-season title and earn the right to host the league playoffs next weekend. Armstrongs goals were near carbon copies of each other, both shot to the far post from the right side off passes from junior Courtney Levine. Armstrong, who scored a hat trick on Saturday, has five goals in her last two games one short of the school record (note correction). Armstrong now has 11 goals on the season and joins junior Dawn Iberer (14) as the second set of Muhlenberg teammates to reach double figures in goals in the same season. |
