Mules Score Big Win in Home Opener

Coming from behind was the order of the night as the Muhlenberg wrestling team opened its 2002-03 dual-meet season with a win against three-time defending Centennial Conference champion McDaniel. The two teams tied, 23-23, but the Mules were declared the winners because they captured more bouts (six).

McDaniel (3-3, 1-1) entered the match ranked 25th in the Division III preseason poll. It was the second time in three years that Muhlenberg defeated a nationally ranked Green Terror squad.

Muhlenberg trailed, 24-17, heading into the final two bouts, but sophomore Jeremy Hart rebounded from a 6-3 deficit at the end of the first period to record an 11-6 win. McDaniel had one team point deducted at the end of the bout, making the score 23-20.
