TIMES SET FOR WOMENS SOCCER TOURNAMENT
Pairings and times for the Centennial Conference Tournament in womens soccer have been set. Muhlenberg (13-6, 9-1), the top seed and host, will play Gettysburg (10-5-2, 6-4) on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 11:30. Second-seeded Franklin & Marshall (13-2-2, 7-1-2) faces Johns Hopkins (12-5-2, 7-2-1) the same day at 2:00. Saturdays winners will meet Sunday at 1:00 for the championship, with the winner earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. See Fridays Mule Sports Daily for a tournament preview. Three Muhlenberg athletes have been named to the Centennial Conference
Volleyball: Senior Meaghan Billie (right) averaged 3.33 kills and hit .329 in a 1-1 week. She ranks fourth in the CC in hitting percentage (.262) and finished her career second on the Mules all-time list with 1,314 kills. Womens Soccer: Sophomore Rebecca Armstrong was honored for the second straight week after contributing to three of the Mules four goals in a 2-0 week. She scored both at Ursinus and assisted on one at Centenary. Armstrongs 27 points entering the week ranked third in the CC. Mens Soccer: Senior David Vassilaros scored two first-half goals in Muhlenbergs 4-0 win at Ursinus. |
Womens Basketball Ranked 20th in Preseason Poll
The Muhlenberg womens basketball team is ranked 20th in the d3hoops.com 2002-03 preseason Division III poll. The Mules are coming off a 21-4 season in which they were ranked as high as eighth in the d3hoops.com poll. They begin their season on Friday, Nov. 22, at the Scotty Wood Tournament. One of the other teams at the tournament, St. Lawrence, is 13th in the poll after reaching the national championship game last winter. d3hoops.com Preseason Womens Basketball Poll
