Junior Dawn Iberer had her first career hat trick to lead the Muhlenberg womens soccer team to a 4-2 victory against Oswego State at RITs Rachel Miller Memorial Tournament.
Iberers hat trick was the first for Muhlenberg since Alissa Desiderio in 1999 and one goal shy of the record for goals in a game. In the first two games of the season Iberer has compiled five goals off 13 shots. Iberers first goal was an attempted header that shot off the post and into the net. Her second goal came off an assist from junior Sharon Seggel. Her final goal was a shot from 15 yards out that sailed over the keepers head. Sophomore Rebecca Armstrong contributed the other Muhlenberg goal off a rebound from freshman Lara Swanson. Junior Jackie Gerard and sophomore Stacey Spector combined for four saves on the day. Iberer and junior back Monica Jones were named to the All-Tournament Team. |
