MENS SOCCER WINS THIRD 1-0 GAME
Freshman James Henshaw scored his first career goal to lift the Muhlenberg mens soccer team to a 1-0 win at Wilkes. The win snapped a two-game skid for the Mules (3-2), all of whose victories this season have come by a 1-0 score. Henshaw lobbed a shot over the head of the Colonel goalkeeper at the 15:03 mark and the Muhlenberg defense did the rest, limiting Wilkes (1-2-2) to only five shots. Sophomore goalkeeper Chris Davis made a diving deflection in the 79th minute to preserve the lead. Volleyball: NYU 3, Muhlenberg 0. Muhlenberg (3-7) traveled to downtown Manhattan and suffered its third straight loss. Freshman Julie Lauro recorded a match-high nine kills. Click here for box score. |

Strong Defense Saves Mules Win Sophomore Kristen Bruschi and senior Laura Diez scored first-half goals to lead the Muhlenberg field hockey team to a 2-1 victory against Scranton. The Mules improved to 3-1, their best start since the 2000 season.
We really wanted a win tonight, especially after coming off our win Friday. We wanted to show them that we could do it, Bruschi commented after the game, before going to celebrate her 19th birthday. In the second half the Mule defense prevailed, stopping an aggressive Lady Royals team. Senior Josephine Fasolino compiled nine saves, breaking the record for career saves previously set at 398. |
