Mens Soccer Scores Two, Gets Win
The Muhlenberg mens soccer team, which had scored no more than one goal in each of its first five games, exploded for two and blanked Scranton, 2-0. The Mules (4-2) are undefeated and unscored-upon away from home this season. Freshman James Henshaw began the scoring in the 16th minute when his shot from the left side went through the hands of the Royal goalie and into the net. It was his second career goal. Muhlenberg got some breathing room for the first time all year in the second half, when senior David Vassilaros, playing his first game of the season, sent a diagonal cross into the penalty box and senior Michael Hochkeppel knocked it in for his second goal of the season. |

Senior captain Meaghan Billie added 15 kills. In the second match, Billie recorded 15 kills, while Lauro compiled 10. Freshman Mary Henning led in assists (20). Lauro also contributed three service aces. Muhlenberg (4-8) took second place in Pool A and moves to the Purple Division tomorrow, along with three other second-place finishers. The Mules will face Wilkes at 11 a.m. |
