Soccer Teams Drop in Rankings But Have Chance to Move Up
Although both Muhlenberg soccer teams dropped in the weekly NSCAA regional rankings, they will have the opportunity to move back up in next weeks poll when they play teams ranked ahead of them. The men fell from fourth to sixth following a 1-0 loss at Elizabethtown, the team ranked first in the region and fifth in Division III. Moving ahead of the Mules were Drew and Gettysburg, two teams Muhlenberg will play in next two weeks. The Mules host Drew (which received votes in the national poll) on Wednesday and travel to Gettysburg on Saturday, Sept. 25. For the second straight week, Muhlenberg is responsible for the lone loss by two top-20 teams, No. 13 Johns Hopkins and No. 16 Stevens Tech. MENS POLL
1. Elizabethtown (10-1-1) The women fell from seventh to eighth despite a 1-0 week, displaced by a Lebanon Valley team that tied Messiah. Muhlenberg hosts Gettysburg, the only other Centennial Conference team ranked in the region, on Saturday. WOMENS POLL
