The Johns Hopkins field hockey team turned the tables on 11th-ranked Muhlenberg in a 1-0 victory at Homewood Field. Jenny Farrellys goal late in the first half stood up as the Blue Jays (3-5, 1-1) handed the Mules (9-2, 1-2) their second loss in three games. Last season, Muhlenberg shut out Hopkins when the Blue Jays were nationally ranked. The Mules are 0-7 all-time at Johns Hopkins. The Blue Jays came in allowing a Centennial Conference-worst four goals per game, but Muhlenberg could not cash in on several good scoring chances in the first half and was shut out for the first time all season. Freshman Lauren Schram totaled six saves and helped keep the Mules within in a goal in the second half, when they were outshot 7-0. |
