This weekend is Homecoming and four Mule teams will host Centennial
Conference matches tomorrow and Saturday.
Field Hockey (Friday, 7:00): The field hockey Mules will be the first of three Muhlenberg squads to take on Dickinson this weekend. The No. 14 Mules (9-2, 1-2) will look to even up their CC record after dropping a 1-0 decision to Johns Hopkins last Friday. The Red Devils (5-6, 2-2) are coming off a loss to No. 10 McDaniel. Five of their six losses have been to ranked opponents. Volleyball (Saturday, 11:00/1:00): Muhlenberg takes on Dickinson at 11:00 and Gettysburg at 1:00 in Memorial Hall. The Mules (7-13, 0-2) lost their first two CC matches last Saturday, but were only a few points away from victory. Five of the six games lost by the Mules were decided by only two points, including all three in their five-game thriller against McDaniel. Dickinson (7-11, 1-1) had a five-game match of its own Wednesday. The Red Devils edged Villa Julie, 3-2. Gettysburg (16-5, 3-0) has been on a roll. The Bullets defeated Dickinson and Ursinus last Saturday to extend their winning streak to 10 matches. Dickinson and Gettysburg will also face Washington Saturday. The Shorewomen (2-18, 1-2) do not play the Mules until Oct. 25 at Franklin & Marshall. Football (Saturday, 1:00): This time Muhlenberg and Dickinson meet up on the gridiron. The Mules (1-2, 1-1) fired on all cylinders to pick up their first win last week at Franklin & Marshall. The Red Devils (2-2, 0-1) have been shut out the past two weeks and will put their run-heavy offense up against a Berg defense that surrendered only one rushing yard to F&M. Justin Deutsch and Mike Loughlin will have the call on WMUH, 91.7 FM and http://www.muhlenberg.edu/wmuh/realaud.html. The broadcast starts at 12:30 with the Mules Kickoff pregame show. Mens Soccer (Saturday, 7:00): Muhlenberg will put its perfect CC record on the line against Swarthmore. The Mules (9-3, 4-0) are coming off a 1-0 loss Wednesday at No. 10 Elizabethtown. The Garnet (4-7-1, 2-2) has doubled its previous win total in the past week, first knocking off Washington, then Franklin & Marshall. |
