The last time the Mules scored four goals in back-to-back games was 1998; the last team they defeated consecutive opponents by at least four goals was 1979.

Junior Kristen Bruschi scored two goals against Moravian to move into fifth place on the program’s all-time scoring list with 66 career points. Fourth place (Sue Strimel ’69) is 10 points away.

Muhlenberg has a tough week ahead, with a road game against Scranton and a home game against Susquehanna. Last year, Susquehanna handed the Mules their worst loss (5-0) of the season.

Muhlenberg tied two school records during the tournament, both relating to service aces. The team matched the record for a three-game match with 20 aces against Neumann, and freshman Kate Haggerty tied the individual mark for a four-game match with eight against Catholic.

“The ball bounced around in the box and came out to me,” said Milberg in describing his goal. “I had time to settle it and get a few touches, and I guess I got lucky. The ball knuckled off to the right and the goalie went the other way.”

The Mules held off several late charges by the Ducks to hang on for the win, which came a night after a disappointing 1-0 loss to Wabash. Muhlenberg outshot Wabash, 26-4, and has dominated its opponents statistically through three games, with a 71-17 margin in shots and a 25-4 edge in corner kicks.

The Mules are still struggling to score goals, however, which was a problem for the team last year. Milberg, who starts at center back, has scored two of the team’s four goals. “However we can get them ...,” he said.
