Despite some strong individual performances, the Muhlenberg volleyball team suffered its second loss in a row, falling in four games at Baptist Bible. For only the second time in team history, and the first time in a four-game match, the Mules (8-13) had two players record 30 digs. The feat was accomplished by juniors Julie Lauro and Jen Weist the same two who did it the first time. Lauro finished with 31 and Weist had 30. Lauro also added 26 kills to move into second place on the programs all-time career list, three ahead of Meaghan Billie (1999-2002). With 1,317 kills, Lauro is poised to break the record of 1,336 next week. Sophomore Kate Haggerty knocked down 17 kills, one off her career high, while freshman Jess Anselmi set a career best with nine kills. Junior Mary Hennings 53 assists were one short of the school record. She also had 20 digs. |
