King Crowned Player of the Week

Junior midfielder Christopher King of the Muhlenberg men’s soccer team has been named player of the week by the Centennial Conference.

King was honored after contributing to all three goals in the Mules’ 3-0 shutout of Dickinson on Saturday. He headed in a corner kick late in the first half, scored on a long shot early in the second and assisted on the final goal.

The victory snapped a five-game winless streak for Muhlenberg.

King is third on the Mules (4-7-2, 2-3-1) with eight points on three goals and two assists this season.

With three matches left in the CC season, Muhlenberg is in sixth place, one game out of the fifth and final playoff spot. The Mules do not have wins against any of the teams in front of them, although they play Gettysburg (tied for second place with a 4-1-1 record) on Saturday.
