Henshaw Named Player of the Week
Junior James Henshaw of the Muhlenberg mens soccer team has been named player of the week by the Centennial Conference. Henshaw (right) had a pair of goals in a 2-0 week for the Mules. He put in a rebound of his own saved shot with 5:23 remaining to finish Muhlenbergs come-from-behind 4-3 win against DeSales. Henshaw added the game-clinching goal in the 3-0 victory vs. Gettysburg. With seven goals in 14 games, Henshaw is fourth in the CC in goals per game. He also is fifth in points per game. Henshaw is the second Mule in as many weeks to earn the CC honor, following Christopher King. |

Womens Soccer Ties in Home Finale
Members of the Muhlenberg womens soccer team got a little extra time in their final scheduled game at Varsity Field, but could not score in either overtime period and wound up with a scoreless draw against Moravian. The Mules (10-4-2) had an 11-8 advantage in shots, but it was the Greyhounds (8-5-2) who had the best scoring opportunity, hitting the crossbar with less than five minutes left in regulation. Senior Stacey Spector made five saves in extending her unscored-upon streak to 602 minutes and lowering her season goals-against average to 0.35. This was the second straight 0-0 tie Muhlenberg played against Moravian. The Mules have only two other scoreless ties in their entire history. The result kept the Matte Award standings for the 2004-05 year tied at two apiece. |
