For the first time in his career, sophomore center Jeff Stewart of the Muhlenberg men’s basketball team has been named co-player of the week by the Centennial Conference.

Stewart was honored after recording his second double-double of the young season with 26 points and 11 rebounds in the Mules’ 79-63 win at Arcadia. He scored more than half his points from the foul line, making 14 free throws – the most by a CC player this year – in 15 attempts.

Stewart is second in the CC in scoring, averaging 21.0 points per game for the 2-1 Mules. He also is tied for fourth in rebounding (9.7 per game) and first in blocked shots (nine).

Sharing the honor with Stewart was Swarthmore’s Matt Gustafson, who scored 37 and 35 points in overtime losses to Drew and Neumann.
