Volleyball Falls at Moravian
The Muhlenberg volleyball team split its first two games with local rival Moravian, but the Greyhounds (10-8) took the final two for a 3-1 win. The result tied the Matte Award standings for the 2004-05 year at 1½-1½. Junior Julie Lauro had a double-double for the Mules (6-10) with 14 kills and 10 digs, and so did freshman Tiffany Elliott (26 assists, 11 digs). Junior Jen Weist led the defense with 18 digs. |
Five days after suffering its first Centennial Conference loss of the
season, the Muhlenberg womens soccer team bounced back to shut out
Swarthmore, 3-0.
The Mules (5-3, 2-1) outshot the Garnet (3-6, 1-2) by a 21-6 margin. Sophomore Elana Rabinowitz opened the scoring midway the first half with her second goal in three games. Senior Rebecca Armstrong notched her team-leading fourth goal of the season nine minutes later. Senior Kimberly Klicka scored her first goal of 2004 in the second half. Sophomores Kayla Boisvert and Shauna Henley combined with senior Stacey Spector for Muhlenbergs first shutout of the year. |
