Women’s Soccer Loses Late; Field Hockey and Volleyball Fall

The Muhlenberg women’s soccer team lost 1-0 as Franklin & Marshall scored the lone goal of the game in the 84th minute. Click here for box score.

The Muhlenberg field hockey team fell 3-0 at 17th-ranked Gettysburg. The Mules made 14 saves, including a defensive one for junior Kate Moyer. Click here for box score.

The Muhlenberg men’s tennis match scheduled with East Stroudsburg has been postponed to Oct. 20.

Assous has 19 career points (four goals and 11 assists).
Muhlenberg men’s soccer team played a Tuesday game and came away 1-0 winners at Drew, concluding its non-conference schedule. The Mules finished 5-2 out of the Centennial Conference.

Muhlenberg (8-3) came into the game ranked ninth in the Mid-Atlantic Region while Drew (7-4-2) is 10th in the Region.

Sophomore Karim Assous scored the only goal the Mules would need. Assous, running down the left side of the field, took a through ball on one bounce from senior Jose Ramirez and one-timed it into the corner of the net 13 minutes into the second half.

For Assous, it was his second goal of the season. Ramirez collected his team-high fourth assist.

Sophomore Peter Bennett made four saves for his fourth shutout of the season. He lowered his season goals against average to 0.93.

Muhlenberg, 6-0 on the weekend, next travels to Dickinson on Saturday for a 2:30 contest.
