In Texas, where everything is bigger, the Muhlenberg volleyball team played its first five-game match of the season, falling to Division II St. Edward’s.

The Mules (10-11) built a 29-21 lead in the first game before hanging on to win, 30-28. The Hilltoppers (6-17) won Game 2 and 3 handily, but Muhlenberg knotted the match with a 30-24 victory in the fourth game.

Back-to-back service aces by junior Julia Lamborn and a pair of kills by freshman Megan Eiser helped the Mules build an 8-5 advantage in the decisive game. St. Edward’s reeled off the next six points, however, and went on to win, 15-10.

Eiser had a career-high 15 digs to go along with 28 assists.
