Schmidt, Amari Receive CC Honors
Seniors Amy Schmidt and Katie Amari of the Muhlenberg women's soccer team have been selected to the All-Centennial Conference team.
Amari, a back, received All-CC honorable mention, as she started all 16 games for a defense that allowed one or fewer goals 10 times and held CC opponents to a 1.30 goals per game. She collected a game-winning goal against Washington (Md.) and had three assists on the year, giving her a career total of six to go along with three career goals. |
Lauro on First Team for the Fourth Time
Senior Julie Lauro of the Muhlenberg volleyball team has been
Lauro, an outside hitter, led the CC with 401 kills, moving her into second place on the all-time CC kills list with 1,793 - a Muhlenberg record. Lauros 325 digs were second on the team and moved her into second on Muhlenbergs all-time list with 1,326. She became the first Mule to amass 1,300 kills and digs. When Muhlenberg won the Buttermaker Tournament, Lauro was named the MVP. She was also on the all-tournament team at the Moravian Greyhound Premiere Invitational, where the Mules took second place. Lauro is third-all time at Muhlenberg with a .236 hitting percentage, fourth with 148 aces and fourth with 210 blocks. During the past season, she was second on the team in hitting percentage, third in aces and fourth in blocks. Lauro is just the third volleyball player to be named to the first team four times, joining Catherine Schott (Gettysburg 1996-99) and Jen Constantino (Haverford 2000-03). |
