Rhoads Named to All-CC Team
Sophomore back Nikki Rhoads of the Muhlenberg field hockey team has been
Rhoads was part of the Mule defense that allowed the third fewest goals per game in the CC, 1.61. She also had two defensive saves and played in all 18 Mule games, starting 17. Rhoads had a game-winning goal against McDaniel, and two of her five assists were on game-winning goals versus Washington and Drew. Her five assists tied for the team lead and for 12th in the Conference. Muhlenberg finished the season 9-9, including 4-6 in the CC. |
Senior midfielder Amy Schmidt of the Muhlenberg womens soccer team has been selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II College Division women's soccer first team.
This marks Schmidts second selection in a calendar year as she was
named
District II College Division consists of all NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA colleges and universities in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. To be nominated for the at-large team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average and a starter or significant reserve on her team. A biology major with a Spanish minor, Schmidt was a co-captain of the soccer team, scored one goal and was instrumental in moving the Mules from defense to offense throughout the season. Schmidt finished her career with nine goals and six assists. She will return to the tennis team in 2006 as the reigning Centennial Conference player of the year. |
