Mens Soccer: Muhlenberg had its 13-game home Centennial Conference unbeaten streak snapped with a 3-0 loss to Franklin & Marshall. It was the Diplomats first win in Allentown since 1984. In a rematch of a first-round game in last years CC playoffs, won by Muhlenberg in overtime, F&M (3-2-3, 2-1) opened the scoring off a corner kick midway through the first half. The Mules (6-2, 2-1) had a golden opportunity to tie the score with 10 minutes left in the half, but a header of a corner kick hit the crossbar. The Diplomats scored a minute-and-a-half later and added a second-half goal. Volleyball: After winning the first game at Haverford, Muhlenberg (8-7, 1-1) dropped the next three and suffered its fifth straight loss, marring a milestone night for senior Julie Lauro. Lauro recorded a double-double with 13 kills and 14 digs. The 13 kills gave her 1,610 for her career, making her the fifth player in CC history to amass 1,600. Lauro is third on the all-time CC kills list, 75 away from second place. Sophomore Jess Anselmi also had a double-double, her second of the season. |
