Although they didn’t train to run the steeplechase, the Mule women (Janette Adams, Christy Goff and Laura Lipari, above) found success in keeping together. Muhlenberg’s spread between its first and fifth runners was 50 seconds, the smallest in the meet. The Mules were one of only three teams to place its top five finishers in the top 40.
hosted by Dickinson.

The Mules ran away with second place, scoring 56 points to easily defeat Dickinson (102) and Swarthmore (104), the two teams that finished ahead of them each of the last three years. The 56 points were the third-fewest by anyone other than Haverford in the 14 years of the CC meet, trailing only Muhlenberg in 2002 (35) and Franklin & Marshall in 1993 (43).

Senior Tim Seeley ran a phenomenal race, leading three Mules in the top 10 by finishing fourth. It tied for the second-best showing by a Muhlenberg runner at the CC Championships, one place behind Head Coach Will Elson’s third-place finish of 2002.

Fellow seniors Lex Mercado (seventh) and Stephen Rothwell (eighth) rounded out the top-10 trio.

Sara Gearin led the Muhlenberg women, who came in sixth, with a 21st-place finish.
