Montalto Senior tight end Stephen Montalto of the Muhlenberg football team has been named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District II College Division second team, as chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

District II College Division consists of all NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA colleges and universities in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. To be nominated for the team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average and a starter or significant reserve on his team.

Montalto, a political science major and former president of ENACT (environmental action team), is the top receiving tight end in school history with 82 career catches for 1,035 yards and five touchdowns. A two-time All-Centennial Conference selection, he is tied for fourth in the CC with a team-leading 37 receptions this season.

Montalto and his Mule teammates will close out their season at Moravian on Saturday in the Greyhounds’ last game before joining the Centennial Conference. The game will be televised on tape delay by Service Electric TV2 and broadcast live on the radio by WMUH 91.7 FM and WYHM 1470 AM.
