Men’s Golf Flies Second at Messiah

Rough Night for Other Teams Men’s Soccer Muhlenberg had its four-game winning streak snapped with a 1-0 loss at Dickinson on an unassisted first-half goal. The Mules (6-3, 2-1) entered the match ranked sixth in the Middle Atlantic Region, while the Red Devils (7-3, 2-1), who were ranked in the top 25 last week, were seventh. Click here for box score. Volleyball Two-time defending Centennial Conference champion Haverford turned away upset-minded Muhlenberg for a 3-1 win. The Mules (11-6, 1-2) won the second set, 25-18, and were tied late in the first (20-20) and fourth sets (16-16), but the Fords, who are ranked 24th in Division III, secured their seventh straight series win. Junior Phylicia Lee led Muhlenberg with 18 kills, and junior Brittany Williams had a career-high 24 digs. Field Hockey The Mules had their two-game winning streak snapped with a 3-1 home loss to Haverford. Junior Tara Cohn scored her fifth goal in three games with 4:52 on the clock, cutting a 2-0 deficit in half, but the Fords came right back and scored 23 seconds later. Click here for box score.

The Muhlenberg men’s golf team finished second for the second straight tournament, taking the runner-up spot at the Messiah Falcon Classic.

The Mules shot a 307, five strokes behind Rutgers-Camden. They won the tournament last year with a 301.

Sophomore Zachary Oyer posted the low Muhlenberg score for the third time in as many competitions this fall. His 3-over-par 75 tied for fourth with four other golfers, including senior Bill Snow. Oyer (right) leads the Mules with a 74. 8 stroke average.

Freshman Matthew Cohen also landed in the top 10 in his collegiate debut, carding a 77.
