Jim Jeffers December 8: Ten named to Academic Honor Roll
Senior Jim Jeffers (right) was one of 10 members of the Muhlenberg football program to be named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll.

November 26: Two earn Academic All-America honors
Senior John DeLuca and junior Jake Floyd were selected to the Academic All-America second team.

November 22: Muhlenberg loses to Wesley in NCAA playoffs
Muhlenberg ended its season with a 20-0 loss to Wesley in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Muhlenberg hopes to turn the tables on a Wesley team that ended its season last year.

William Moates November 17: Mules sweep CC awards
After winning the Centennial Conference championship, Muhlenberg swept the league’s postseason awards. Senior John DeLuca was named offensive player of the year, senior Matt Rathbun was tabbed as defensive player of the year, and Mike Donnelly was the coach of the year. Senior William Moates (left) was one of four unanimous first-team selections for the Mules.

NCAA football November 16: Muhlenberg draws Wesley
Muhlenberg will play its first-round NCAA Tournament game against Wesley at home on Saturday, November 22. Wesley is the team that knocked the Mules out of the NCAAs last year.

Chris Hartzell November 15: Streaks end at Moravian
Muhlenberg overcame a 14-point deficit to take a 21-14 late in the fourth quarter, but Moravian tied the score and eventually won in overtime, 27-24, snapping the Mules’ long regular-season (20) and Centennial Conference (15) winning streaks. Freshman Chris Hartzell (left) returned his own blocked punt 17 yards for a touchdown.

November 9: DeLuca earns repeat honor
Senior John DeLuca was named Centennial Conference offensive player of the week for the second time in four weeks.

Edward DeRisi November 8: CC CHAMPS AGAIN!
Muhlenberg secured its second consecutive Centennial Conference championship and clinched an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with a 45-8 home win against Ursinus. Senior Matt Rathbun scored the first touchdown on a 29-yard interception return, and senior Edward DeRisi (right) caught six passes for a career-high 113 yards and a touchdown.

Jake Floyd November 6: Four named to academic team
Junior Jake Floyd (left) was one of four Muhlenberg football players to earn first-team Academic All-District honors.

Erik Snyder November 1: Mules clinch share of title
Muhlenberg clinched a share of its second straight Centennial Conference title with a 31-25 win at Dickinson. Senior Erik Snyder (right) scored what proved to be the game-winning touchdown on a 1-yard plunge midway through the fourth quarter.

October 30: Muhlenberg first in rankings that count
Muhlenberg is ranked first in the South Region in the all-important NCAA Regional Rankings.

October 28: Mules ranked second in Division III
The Mules achieved the highest national ranking in College athletic history, moving up to No. 2 in the Division III coaches poll.

October 26: Mazzola wins CC honor again
For the second time in four weeks, senior David Mazzola was named Centennial Conference special teams player of the week.

Michael Katz October 25: Long drive clinches win
A 21-play, 11-minute drive, capped by a 42-yard field goal off the foot of sophomore Michael Katz (left), clinched Muhlenberg’s 17-6 win in the rain against Franklin & Marshall. Senior John DeLuca carried 42 times for 177 yards in the game.

October 19: DeLuca honored by Centennial
Senior John DeLuca was named Centennial Conference player of the week for the fourth time.

Cameron Ahouse October 18: Muhlenberg wins at McDaniel (finally)
Muhlenberg recorded its first victory at McDaniel in 20 years, staying undefeated with a 49-6 win. Junior Cameron Ahouse (left) returned an interception 51 yards for a touchdown.

October 13: Muhlenberg tied for first in poll
Muhlenberg is tied for first in the Lambert Meadowlands poll and is ranked fifth in two national Division III polls.

Frank Emmett October 11: Mules finish first half perfect
Muhlenberg closed out the first half of the regular season with its undefeated record intact following a 38-7 win against Juniata. Senior Eric Santagato set a school record for completion percentage, and junior Frank Emmett (left) had one of two interceptions for a defense that didn’t allow a point.

David Mazzola October 5: Mazzola honored by CC
Senior David Mazzola (right) was named Centennial Conference special teams co-player of the week for his punting at Johns Hopkins.

Brandon Doyle Joe Caporoso October 4: Muhlenberg escapes to remain undefeated
Muhlenberg extended its regular-season winning streak to 15 with a tight 28-23 win at Johns Hopkins. Senior Brandon Doyle (left) intercepted two passes, including one that sealed the game, and senior Joe Caporoso (right) caught his first career touchdown pass, giving the Mules the lead for good.

September 30: Mules a consensus No. 5
The Mules are ranked fifth in Division III in the two major national polls.

Phil Cresta September 28: Cresta earns CC honor
Junior Phil Cresta (left) was named Centennial Conference offensive player of the week after catching two touchdown passes in the Mules’s 42-21 win against Gettysburg.
