May 5: Gibbs retires as softball coach
After 12 years at the helm of the Muhlenberg softball program, Ruth Gibbs (right) has retired. Gibbs is the winningest coach in Mule softball history and led the
team to three Centennial Conference championships.

May 4: Pair of fives for track teams
Both Muhlenberg track and field teams finished fifth at the Centennial Conference
Championships. Senior Erika Koop (left), junior David Chorney, sophomore Brendan Kirk and freshman Bobby Torphy (right)won silver medals on the final day in the
long jump, 400 hurdles, 1500 and 800, respectively.

May 3: Karchner claims CC decathlon crown
Senior Michael Karchner (left) of the Muhlenberg men’s track and field team captured the decathlon title on the second day of the Centennial Conference
Championships. Both Mule teams ended the day in fourth place after seven scored events.

May 3: Baseball eliminated in CC playoffs
The Muhlenberg baseball team ended its season with a 13-6 loss to Haverford in the Centennial Conference playoffs. Junior Eric Hammond (right)
hit his first career home run and also doubled.

May 2: Men’s lacrosse, baseball fall in playoffs
The Muhlenberg men’s lacrosse and baseball teams were defeated by nationally ranked teams in the Centennial Conference playoffs. Lacrosse ended its best season
ever with a 13-3 loss to Gettysburg, while baseball fell to Johns Hopkins, 9-1, in the first round of the double-elimination tournament.

May 2: Faust wins CC pole vault again
For the fourth straight time, sophomore Alex Faust (left) of the Muhlenberg women’s track and field team won the pole vault at a Centennial Conference
championship meet. She tied a school record with her height of 11-1¾.

April 30: Conti named player of the year
Junior Christian Conti of the Muhlenberg baseball team was named
Centennial Conference player of the year after helping lead the Mules to
the playoffs.
In its last regular-season game, Muhlenberg fell to DeSales, 16-6.

April 29: Five earn All-CC honors
Junior Jenn Powell (right) of the Muhlenberg women’s tennis team earned All-Centennial Conference honors for both singles and doubles. Three Mule women’s lacrosse
players were selected to the All-CC team.

April 28: CC honors for two; playoff schedules set
Muhlenberg athletes Kyle Farris (left) and RiRi Ferrigno were named Centennial Conference players of the week in men’s lacrosse and softball,
respectively ... Also, men’s lacrosse and baseball playoff schedules are set.

April 27: Softball finishes with split
Freshman Ashley Brewer (right) pitched a three-hitter for her first career shutout as the Muhlenberg softball team ended its season with an 8-0 win against Washington
in the second game of a doubleheader. The Shorewomen scored four runs in their final at-bat to take the opener, 9-8 ... Also, men’s golf finished second at
the Centennial Conference Championships, 17 strokes behind McDaniel, and women’s golf ended up fifth.
