FAN APPRECIATION NIGHT RESCHEDULED
The Muhlenberg softball team will sponsor its annual
“Fan Appreciation Night” on Monday, April 24, weather
permitting. Prizes to be
raffled
off during the 6:30 doubleheader against Swarthmore include:

• Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons tickets

Also, fans will have the opportunity to win prizes by playing
“Softball Bingo” throughout the night.
SOFTBALL, MEN’S TENNIS IN CONTENTION
The Muhlenberg softball and men’s tennis teams are both
in contention for the Centennial Conference championship.
Muhlenberg is one of four schools jockeying for first place in the
softball race. The Mules have split with Gettysburg (the defending
champion) and Western Maryland and are scheduled to face Ursinus on April
29.
The CC champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Men’s tennis will play for at least a share of the CC championship
when it hosts six-time defending champion Washington on April 26. The
Shoremen have never lost a CC match.

WOLF NAMED PLAYER OF WEEK
Junior David Wolf was named Centennial Conference baseball
player of the week after hitting .714 (10-for-14) as Muhlenberg won three
of four games. The first baseman
had
three doubles, a triple and eight
runs scored. He also drew five walks for an on-base percentage of .789.
Wolf reached base all six times, going 4-for-4 with two doubles, in an
18-15 defeat of Dickinson.

Monday, April 17
SOFTBALL vs. Messiah, rained out
WOMEN’S GOLF competed at Gettysburg
Invitational. Sophomore Courtney Sessa won medalist honors for the second
time this school year, shooting a 51 over nine holes in a rain-shortened
tournament. Junior Jessica McCourt, one of the other two Mule golfers,
shot a 57. Dickinson won the four-team event with a score of 239, three
strokes better than Gettysburg.
MEN’S GOLF tied for 14th at Cross Creek
District II Golf Classic. Muhlenberg had a disappointing showing at
Hershey after finishing third in this tournament last season. Click here for box score.
MEN’S TENNIS Muhlenberg 5, Gettysburg 2.
Muhlenberg bounced back from its first Centennial Conference loss by
defeating Gettysburg to remain in second place. Freshman Matt Fleissig and
junior Mike McCormick were double winners.

WOMEN’S GOLF finished third at Dickinson
Invitational. Sophomore Courtney Sessa shot a 106 to lead five Muhlenberg
golfers at the Dickinson Invitational. Mount St. Mary's won the tournament
with a 440, Gettysburg was second at 467, and the Mules had a team score
of 481. Dickinson was fourth, and golfers from Western Maryland and
Franklin & Marshall also competed. Sophomore Kathryn Baker carded a 119.
LACROSSE Swarthmore 16, Muhlenberg 5. Junior
Miruna Lovin recorded her eighth hat trick of the season,
but the Mules couldn't get much more against the top goalkeeper in the
Centennial Conference. The three goals gave Lovin a school-record streak

WOMEN’S TENNIS Muhlenberg 8, Ursinus 1.
Senior Kristin Cahayla, playing in her final career home match, won at
both singles and doubles as Muhlenberg posted its most decisive Centennial
Conference win since 1994. Sophomore Kristen DiLorenzo, who began the
season at No. 2, won at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles for the first
time. Junior Kerri Waldowski and freshman Samantha Evans also were double

Thursday, April 20
SOFTBALL Western Maryland 6, Muhlenberg 3;
Muhlenberg 5, Western Maryland 4. Muhlenberg stayed in the thick of the
Centennial Conference race with the split, snapping Western Maryland's
11-game winning streak in the nightcap. The Mules trailed 2-1 heading into
the fourth inning of Game 2, but sophomore Liz Kostelnick led off with a
triple, igniting a four-run rally. Freshman Meghan Woods' second RBI
single of the game put Muhlenberg ahead to stay. Sophomore Angie Tyson
allowed 10 hits, but got key inning-ending strikeouts with runners in
scoring position in the fifth and sixth to earn her fourth straight

BASEBALL Ursinus 18, Muhlenberg 9. Junior David
Wolf continued his hot hitting by belting two home runs, but first-place
Ursinus had plenty of its own offense. Wolf became only the second
Muhlenberg player to hit two homers in a Centennial Conference game.
Freshman Justin Rubenstein went 3-for-5, and senior Chris Moraitis stroked

LACROSSE Drew 12, Muhlenberg 9. Down 11-3 with 10
minutes remaining, the Mules scored the next six goals to get within two
of the 13th-ranked team in the country. Drew scored the final goal,
however, to escape with the win. Freshman Lynsey Caldwell and junior Kerry
Lambert scored three goals apiece. Caldwell also had an assist to set a
school record for points in a season by a freshman (41).

MEN’S TENNIS Muhlenberg 7, Ursinus 0. The
Mules lost only 11 games in nine matches and cruised to their second
straight win, guaranteeing them a chance to play for the Centennial
Conference championship. Muhlenberg reached double digits in victories for
the first time since 1941, and freshmen Brad Scheller and Cameron Parke
became the first Mules since 1990 to win 10 singles matches in spring

Friday, April 21
BASEBALL vs. Ursinus, rained out
MEN’S GOLF in third place after
first round of Centennial Conference Championships. The defending champion
Mules trailed Gettysburg by six strokes and Ursinus by three. Junior Matt
Berman was fourth on the leader board with a 79.
Saturday, April 22
MEN’S GOLF finished fifth at Centennial
Conference Championships. Muhlenberg failed to defend its 1999 CC title,
finishing eight strokes behind first-place Western Maryland in a close
tournament. The top four teams were separated by eight strokes. Senior
Matt Skilton was the Mules' leader, his 159 over 36 holes good for eighth
place.

TRACK & FIELD competed at Lafayette Invitational.
Muhlenberg sent a small squad to this non-scoring meet that featured 17
teams, most from Divisions I and II. Junior Katrina Beck tied for second
in the high jump and 5-2½. The men's top finisher was senior Ryan
Smith, who came in sixth in the javelin (167-2). The 4x100-meter relay
team of seniors Matthew Capogrosso, Matt Hazelton and Kurt Kunsch and
freshman Jason App set a school record of 44.31 seconds. The old record of
44.37 was set last year by a team that included three of the same members.
