MENS TENNIS RAINED OUT
The scheduled mens tennis season opener at Albright was rained out. No makeup date has been set yet. The Mules are now scheduled to begin their spring season at home against Elizabethtown on Tuesday. |
LACROSSE LOSES BY ONE AGAIN
Beth Bartman scored a goal 28 seconds into sudden-death overtime to give the Widener lacrosse team a 6-5 win over Muhlenberg, spoiling the Mules home opener. It was the second straight one-goal loss for the Mules (0-2). After falling behind 4-3 early in the second half, Muhlenberg took a 5-4 lead on goals by freshman Christa Carlstrand and junior Sarah Bowman. Bowmans goal came with 17:12 to play and stood up until Widener (2-1) tied the game with 3:37 left. The contest remained knotted through two three-minute overtime halves. Carlstrand and senior Teresa Lunardi scored two goals apiece. Freshman Diana Bleakley made 11 saves. Click here for box score. |
