BLEAKLEY, CALDWELL TIE RECORDS

In spite of record-tying performances by freshman Diana Bleakley and junior Lynsey Caldwell, the Muhlenberg lacrosse team suffered a 15-4 loss to 12th-ranked Gettysburg.

Bleakley tied a school record set in 1988 by making 28 saves, keeping the score relatively close for a game in which the Mules (1-5, 0-3) were outshot, 48-11. Bleakley had 14 saves in each half, many at close range.

Caldwell tied the school record for career assists (37), setting up classmate Sarah Bowman with a perfect pass from behind the cage with 20:41 left for Muhlenberg’s final goal.

Bowman scored three goals for the Mules.

MEN’S TENNIS WINS THIRD STRAIGHT

Junior Cameron Parke, playing at second singles, came from behind to win in three sets and clinch a 4-3 win for the Muhlenberg men’s tennis team in a tight match against Lebanon Valley.

The Mules improved to 3-0 this spring, with all three wins coming against Commonwealth Conference teams.

Three of the six singles matches went to three sets, and the two doubles matches won by Muhlenberg were decided by the score of 8-6.

Freshman Jeff Kraft and sophomore Brian Barkauskas won their singles matches in straight sets to put the Mules one match away from the victory.
