The final round of the Centennial Conference Golf Championships was
rained out on Sunday. Both the womens and mens tournaments
reverted to Saturdays scores as their final results.
For the women, that meant the championship was decided by one round. Muhlenberg, which won the first CC title last year, finished third with a score of 476. Western Maryland won the championship with a 423, followed by Franklin & Marshall (438). Gettysburg totalled a 484, and Dickinson and Ursinus did not field complete teams. Senior Kathryn Baker (right) tied for 10th place overall with a 114. Seniors Kate Stampler (119), Elizabeth Phillips (120) and Jenn Risley (123) were not far behind. The mens tournament was shortened to a two-round event. Gettysburg won its third CC championship with a 36-hole total of 624. The Mules, who won the title in the last three odd-numbered years, finished in fourth place. Sophomore Matt Katz tied for 10th, 12 strokes off the lead with a 163. |
