BLEAKLEY NAMED GOALIE OF THE WEEK
Freshman Diana Bleakley of the Muhlenberg lacrosse team has been named ECAC Division III Southern goaltender of the week after tying a school record with 28 saves in the Mules 15-4 loss to nationally ranked Gettysburg. In her first game of this week, Bleakley recorded 23 saves in a 13-8 win against Cedar Crest. She leads the Centennial Conference in both saves per game and save percentage. In other team news, the game at Dickinson that was called at halftime last Tuesday has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 24, at 4:30. The remake takes the place of that nights scheduled home game against Susquehanna, which has been cancelled. |
WOMENS TENNIS LONE UNDEFEATED TEAM IN CC
The Muhlenberg womens tennis team continued its hot streak, shutting out Ursinus, 9-0, to remain undefeated for the spring season. The Mules are off to a 6-0 start, the second-best in program history. With
Against Ursinus, Muhlenberg lost only three games in the three doubles matches and 16 games in the six singles matches. Sophomore Sarah Niebler didnt lose any games, winning 8-0 at No. 3 doubles and 6-0, 6-0 and No. 5 singles to run her combined record for the season to a perfect 12-0. In spring dual matches, she has winning streaks of 15 straight in singles and 10 straight in doubles. The Mules have won 11 straight matches on their home courts, but have only two remaining home matches. Their next five scheduled CC matches are all away. |
