GOLFERS FOURTH AT MORAVIAN
Snow flurries and temperatures in the 40s did not prevent the Muhlenberg mens golf team from finishing fourth out of 18 complete teams at the Moravian Spring Invitational, held at Southmoore Golf Course in Bath, Pa. All five Mule golfers shot between an 80 and an 83 in difficult conditions that saw only 12 of 89 competitors score in the 70s. Sophomore Jesse Neider tied for 13th place with an 80, one stroke better than senior Rich Jacobs. |
BASEBALL LOSES LEAD, GAME TO FORDS
The Muhlenberg baseball team (12-11, 3-3) squandered an early 5-0 lead and dropped a 10-6 decision at Haverford for its third straight Centennial Conference split. Seven of the Mules 11 hits went for extra bases, including the first career home run for sophomore Joel Rush, who led off the fourth by hitting the ball over the left-field fence. That made it 4-0, and a two-out RBI single by junior Justin Rubenstein later that inning extended the lead to 5-0. But Haverford (8-12, 1-5) scored three in the fourth and five in the fifth, the big blow a grand-slam home run by winning pitcher Adam Huron. Rubenstein finished 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI, while sophomore Adam Sadler also stroked a pair of doubles. |
