Two freshmen on the Muhlenberg womens track and field team broke
their own school records on the first day of the ECAC Championships, held
at Springfield College.
Ashlie Hankee (top left) qualified for Fridays final in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.63, 14 one-hundredths of a second lower than the standard she set earlier this season. She had the fifth-best qualifying time. Meghan Douglas-Snyder inched her school record in the pole vault up a quarter-inch, clearing the bar at 9-6¼. In the mens pole vault, junior Jason App (bottom left) tied for third at 13-9¼. Also scoring top-10 finishes were junior Brendan Gallagher, fourth in the 10,000; senior Nancy Kegelman, 10th in the javelin; and sophomore Stephanie Melka, 10th in the 10,000. Freshman John Brodwoski scored 3,218 points on the first day of the decathlon, putting him in second place and on pace to qualify for the NCAA Championships. |
