BRODOWSKI BREAKS DECATHLON RECORD
John BrodowskiFreshman John Brodowski broke his own school record in the decathlon as the Muhlenberg track and field teams wrapped up the 2002 season at the ECAC Championships, hosted by Springfield College.

Brodowski finished fourth with 5,836 points, easily eclipsing the mark of 5,200 he had set at Millersville in mid-April. The ECAC champion in the pentathlon, Brodowski added more than 1,000 points to the school record before the season started (4,714).

The Muhlenberg men finished 20th at the meet with 15 team points.

Freshman Ashlie Hankee scored the lone points for the women by placing seventh in the 100-meter high hurdles.

The ECAC Track & Field Championships marked the end of the 2001-02 athletic year at Muhlenberg. See Tuesday’s Mule Sports Daily for a year in review.
