MENS LACROSSE SLIPS TO .500
The Muhlenberg mens lacrosse team came up empty in its quest for its first Centennial Conference win, dropping a 13-4 home game to Dickinson. The Red Devils (5-4, 2-2) jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first quarter and stayed in control the rest of the way. The Mules (4-4, 0-4) had an 8-4 advantage in shots in the second quarter, but converted only one of the shots. Freshman Mike OMalley scored two of Muhlenbergs four goals. Freshman Ryan Long led the Mules with five ground balls. |
Womens Tennis Notches Fourth Straight Easy Win
The Muhlenberg womens tennis team extended its winning streak to four with a 9-0 shutout at Ursinus. The Mules (4-3, 4-2) have defeated their last four opponents by a combined score of 34-1. The only point they lost in that span came in a tiebreaker in a doubles match against Dickinson. Against Ursinus, Muhlenberg won six of its 12 singles sets by a 6-0 score. Winning 6-0, 6-0 were freshman Amy Schmidt (for the third time in four matches) and junior Megan Schreiber. Freshman Lauren Goldberg, playing her first match of the season at No. 6, won 6-0 in her second set after a tight 7-5 first set. Schmidt, Schreiber and juniors Gena Ross and Mackenzie Parke all won at both doubles and singles. |
