A weekly look at what’s going on in the Centennial Conference:

Baseball
The playoff race got a little less cluttered when the top four teams in the standings all swept doubleheaders on Saturday ... Johns Hopkins and Ursinus both have seven games to play this week, due to rainouts. The teams play each other in a doubleheader at Ursinus on Tuesday ... McDaniel still has to play at Johns Hopkins and also hosts Ursinus for two on Saturday.
McDaniel 11-2-1 16-5-1
Johns Hopkins 9-2 22-4
Ursinus 7-3-1 16-9-1
MUHLENBERG 9-4-1 18-8-1
Gettysburg 8-6-1 13-12-2
F & M 8-8 13-14
Haverford 7-9 13-12-1
Swarthmore 3-10 4-18
Dickinson 2-10 7-15
Washington 1-11 1-20

Softball
Haverford snapped its 36-game CC losing streak with a stunning 1-0, 2-1 sweep of Ursinus. The Bears came back to split with Gettysburg and are still in good position for the playoffs, as are the other three traditional front-runners ... Franklin & Marshall’s playoff hopes suffered when the Diplomats split with Swarthmore.
McDaniel 8-0 17-4
Gettysburg 10-2 20-6
MUHLENBERG 8-4 9-16
Ursinus 5-3 15-7
Washington 4-6 13-11
Haverford 2-6 9-17-1
Dickinson 2-6 9-17
F & M 2-8 8-11
Swarthmore 2-8 3-18

Women’s Lacrosse
Ursinus holds the key to the playoffs, hosting Muhlenberg and Washington this week. If the Bears lose both games, the Mules will qualify for the playoffs unless Haverford wins at Franklin & Marshall and Swarthmore.
Gettysburg 6-0 13-1
F & M 7-1 9-3
Washington 6-2 11-3
Ursinus 4-2 6-4
MUHLENBERG 4-3 7-5
Haverford 3-4 7-7
McDaniel 3-5 4-8
Dickinson 1-5 2-8
Swarthmore 1-6 6-9
Bryn Mawr 0-7 4-9

Men’s Lacrosse

Washington (10-2, 8-0) clinched the regular-season championship and homefield for the playoffs with a 14-4 win at previously undefeated McDaniel (10-1, 6-1) ... Franklin & Marshall (10-2, 5-2) defeated Gettysburg (9-4, 5-2), 15-12, in a matchup of the other two playoff teams.

The baseball game at Dickinson was postponed for a second time due to rain. There is no makeup date yet.

Westendorf Named Player of the Week

For the second time this season, freshman John Westendorf of the John Westendorf Muhlenberg men’s lacrosse team has been named player of the week by the Centennial Conference.

Westendorf has honored after scoring five goals, including the game-winner, as the Mules defeated Ursinus, 9-8, for their first-ever Centennial Conference victory. He notched the game-clincher 1:32 into overtime.

Muhlenberg finished its first varsity season since 1980 with a 5-7 record. Westendorf ended the year as the team’s leading goal scorer (25). He earned CC honors previously after scoring seven goals against Centenary.

Other Muhlenberg athletes named to the CC Weekly Honor Roll were senior Justin Graf (baseball), juniors Danielle DeLucia (softball), Amanda Ibey (softball) and Chris O’Connor (baseball) and freshman Courtney Tapkas (women’s lacrosse).
