Senior Will Elson of the Muhlenberg track and field team qualified for the championship final in the 800 meters at the NCAA Championships.

Elson won his heat with a time of 1:53.98. It was the eighth-fastest qualifying time, as seven of the nine finalists came from the second heat. Elson will need to beat only one of the other finalists to earn All-America status. The 800-meter final is scheduled for Saturday at 3:10.

Sophomore John Brodowski finished in 13th place in the decathlon.
